UMI Rear Control Arms

Replace your weak, factory stamped rear lower control arms with UMI's heavy-duty tubular set up. These control arms are constructed of DOM mild steel tubing 1.625" OD x 0.120" wall thickness, CNC machined and fully TIG welded. Control arms are supplied with Energy Suspension® polyurethane bushings and "on car" grease-able zerk grease fittings.

Lower control arms are a must upgrade for any 3rd or 4th generation F-body. These direct bolt-on replacements minimize wheel hop and improve cornering, while lowering track ETs and helping track consistency. Control arms come complete with polyurethane bushings, grease fittings, and zinc-plated steel sleeves.

Installation:

2016 F Body Single Adjust Lower Control Arms
Replace your weak, factory stamped lower control arms with UMI's heavy duty tubular adjustable setup. These direct bolt-on replacements minimize wheel hop, improve cornering while lowering ET's and help track consistency. The spherical rod end allows for a “bind free” operation, making a great upgrade for both your track and auto cross driven car. The polyurethane bushings are designed to be bolted to the car chassis for a quiet comfortable operation. Control arms are constructed DOM mild steel tubing 1.375” OD x 0.095” wall, 4130 chrome moly threaded tube adaptor, completely CNC machined and fully TIG welded for outstanding strength. Control arms feature Energy Suspension® polyurethane bushings, zinc plated steel sleeves and “on-car” grease able zerk grease fittings. Adjustments can be made using the high quality QA1® Teflon lined spherical rod end that operates for a quiet bind free performance.

We use only high quality QA1® spherical rod ends (Part # XMR12/XML12), alloy steel, heat treated, hard chrome plated featuring Teflon/Kevlar self lubricating race. Teflon lined rod ends allow for a quiet operation not found with other brand rod ends. UMI Performance single adjustable lower control arms feature an Energy Suspension polyurethane bushing set-up on one end and a QA1 spherical rod end on the other. This type of set-up allows rear end adjustment when needed while also helping to eliminate and reduce rear end bind. The QA1 rod end allows rear end free movement when high handling, auto cross or road race is a concern, it also allows you to lengthen and shorten the control arms adding additional clearance when trying to squeeze those larger tires under the vehicle. Adjustability is one the most important things when tuning in your street car’s suspension. That is why we have taken the time to develop the Ultimate “on car” adjustable upper control arms for the rear on your GM vehicle. There were no short cuts when manufacturing these arms, only the best materials and components money can buy were used to build our “Ultimate Arms”. Well known weak areas where other manufactures use mild steel have been replaced with aircraft quality 4140 chrome moly steel featuring a TIG welded construction. The upper control arm mounting points feature CNC machined 0.250” mild steel, 4140 Chrome-Moly tube adaptors and a high strength 4140 chrome moly heat treated 1.000” solid adjuster; truly overkill for any application!

For ease of adjustment UMI has designed our Ultimate Arms with on-car adjustability. You can easily make pinion angle adjustments in the garage or at the track; it’s as simple as loosing 2 nuts! Using UMI’s unique chrome moly on-car adjuster, simply turn the adjuster with the control arms on the car to quickly lengthen or shorten the control arm length.
